My flight to Chongqing (via Beijing) did not start out so well on Sunday, it was delayed by 2 hrs, then 3, then 4, then 6... and finally I had them cancel and get me on for the next day so as to avoid the missed connection to Chongqing. Well, Monday I get to the airport and low and behold, delayed 3.5 hrs - get on the plane (the ensuing madness of a line which is really more of a frustrated blob mob), and wait on the plane for another 3.5 hrs! Miss my connection. Get a voucher for a hotel. Lug 3 heavy as all h*ll suitcases on a trolley with my other two carry on pieces to a bus, which is FULL, miss that bus, get on another smaller and fuller bus to get to the hotel....and here I am. Oh, Chongqing, you better be worth it :) I considered sleeping at the airport on a chair along with the other many people doing so but thought I might lose all my worldly possessions whilst doing so and a shower would be nice. I did meet someone rather interesting on the plane who makes toys, specialty designer ones such as these little toy potsticker as well as Halloween masks, wigs, and a plethora of other fun stuff. He started out with a collection of Pez dispensers which then led him to this. Great story. And I love me some toys! Squibbles Ink, I dig it. Ok, off for round two of 'attempt to get to Chongqing'.
